On Friday 7th November, 2008, Lumina played for a fundraising event, an Elizabethan Banquet held at St Paul’s, Bedford, a large main church in the centre of the town.
The venue looked truly magical with banners hung over beautifully decorated tables, arranged along the main aisle. The floor was strewn with fresh herbs & the atmosphere was enhanced by the almost exclusive use of candlelight.
Lumina played as the guests arrived, Anne heralding in the ‘Lord & Lady of the Manor’ on the horn. As a decorated boars head was paraded along the aisle to take central place on the top table, they sung the Boars Head Carol. Between courses, they taught Tudor rounds & dances to the guests & performed a Mummers Play before finally finishing the evening with a set of their music.
